Inspiration

An idea for this wedding portrait photography session started with a dress… It was an old and at the same time a new wedding dress. Are you already intrigued?

I was, when a friend of mine told me that her family’s retail business, which was closed for donkeys years, still had some stock left. Elizabeth Pack was once a well known Fashion business on the Isle of Wight. It specialized in dressing ladies for weddings and special occasions and had a high quality, carefully selected stock.

So, I got to choose a few of them. One particular Edwardian style dress completely captured my imagination. It was a cream Laura Phillips ’70s gown.

Preparation

As the dress itself was vintage and so unusual, the bouquet had to be special too!

I had a vision of a bunch of long-stemmed Arum lilies, loosely put together.

Calla lilies make an uncommon wedding bouquet because of their minimalist elegance that contrasts with more traditional, full-floral bouquets.

Their sleek, sculptural shape and clean lines create a sophisticated and modern aesthetic, yet they also have a subtle vintage charm that pairs beautifully with an antique or vintage dress. The bouquet’s understated drama and timeless beauty stand out for their artistic simplicity, making it both an unexpected and memorable choice for a bride seeking something refined yet bold.

What is more, there is always something personal to me attached to every project..

My Mother had Arum lilies for her wedding bouquet in 1971.

Implementation

The model was an essential element of this wedding portrait photography shoot. The ideal model for a session like that should have an air of timeless beauty and grace. She will possess delicate, refined facial features, porcelain-like complexion, evoking a sense of old-world charm. With a gaze that feels both dreamy and sophisticated.

Perfect location for Wedding Portrait Photography

What can be more beautiful than the beach during the Golden hour or at the sunrise?

As an Isle of Wight photographer I believe this is a perfect place for an elopement or a destination wedding. It provides an exceptionally beautiful backdrop for your celebration.

I am here to help you put your vision into life and create unique and uncommon imagery.
